Rapid development with "Floating Specs"

Jouni Teittinen of ED-Design describes the rapid "Floating Specs" method in the January 2010 issue of the TeollisuusSuomi magazine.

The LymphaTouch lymphatic therapy device was developed by Healthy Life Devices and co-developed by ED-Design. A dynamic product definition method, "Floating Specs", was used in the development process. Continuous information gathering and quick modelling and testing of product variants are central to the method, leading to an agile process and a short project lifecycle. The multi-disciplinary team which took part in the project was able to make speedy decisions and take the needed actions much quicker than large teams with strict project specifications ever could have.
